November 2021 Construction Notice:
The level one entrance (Teardrop) of the Public Affairs Center is currently closed due to construction. Additionally, the sidewalk leading to the level two entrance (lobby) of the Sangamon Auditorium on the Teardrop (northeast) side by house right is also inaccessible. Patrons wishing to purchase tickets in-person are encouraged to enter the lobby via the stage door (southwest) side of the building by walking from parking lot D to the Public Affairs Center (across Lot E or the sidewalk around to the right) and enter the Public Affairs Center at the set of double doors up the right sidewalk. This will place you at LEVEL 2 of the Public Affairs Center in the UIS Performing Art Center's lobby.
Please visit our accessibility page.
At some events, all persons entering the UIS Performing Arts Center or Public Affairs Building will be required to pass through Weapons Screening checkpoints to gain entry. Weapons are prohibited by law on the UIS campus (Illinois State Statute 7201LCS 5/21-6). This includes guns, knives with blades of 3” or more, switchblade knives, stun guns, tasers, metal knuckles, etc. Please keep this in mind as you purchase your event tickets. Refunds will not be provided due to a refusal to comply with the Weapons Screening procedures and thus being denied entry into the building.
To eliminate disruptions by cellular phones, these devices should be turned off or turned to silent mode during all performances at the UIS Performing Arts Center.
Cameras and Recording Devices
Policies vary by event. Please see an usher if you have questions.
Infant & Children
All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket for entry, including small children and infants.
